How to cancel Illicit Encounters

Some Illicit Encounters products renew automatically when they expire. The help pages say you contact them to cancel auto-renewal up to 48 hours before your membership is due to expire, and the terms say you end the agreement by emailing support@illicitencounters.com.

Before you start

  • Find out how you pay: directly on the site, or through Apple or Google Play. The route to cancel is different.
  • Note the renewal date in your account and cancel before it.
  • Keep the confirmation email or a screenshot, and check your bank statement after the next cycle.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Check your expiry date

Note when your Gold or Gold Plus membership expires. You need to cancel at least 48 hours before that.

  2. 2

    Email support

Email support@illicitencounters.com from the address on your account, with your profile ID, asking them to cancel auto-renewal (and close the account, if you want that too).

  3. 3

Or phone, then follow up in writing

The help pages list 020 3633 0493 for payment help, a London number (+44 20 3633 0493 from Ireland). Calling is fine, but follow up by email so you have a written record.

  4. 4

    Keep the reply

Keep the confirmation reply. Your access continues to the end of the period you paid for.

  5. 5

    Check your next statement

Check your bank or card statement around the old expiry date to make sure no renewal went through.

Paid through Apple or Google?

We found no Illicit Encounters app on the Irish App Store. If you ever paid through Apple or Google, cancel in your Apple Account subscriptions or Google Play subscriptions; deleting an app does not cancel.

Cooling-off period and refunds

We found no 14-day right of withdrawal in Illicit Encounters' terms. They say all money paid is non-refundable. Its FAQ adds that if it can't supply the service as described, it will consider a refund if you email support within 7 days of purchase, though a full refund may not be possible if you have used the service.

For the general rules on cancelling services bought online in Ireland, see the CCPC's guide. General information, not legal advice.

Deleting your profile vs stopping payments

Both cancelling auto-renewal and closing your profile are requests to the Illicit Encounters team. Ask for both in the same email and make sure the reply confirms both.

If it still charges you

Contact Illicit Encounters's support with your confirmation and the date you cancelled. If you paid by card and can't get a response, talk to your bank or card provider about the payment. If you subscribed through Apple or Google, ask them for help from your purchase history.
